Complex Manufacturing Tab

1. Complex Manufacturing Tab
Complex Manufacturing Add On for FFL Tools provides the 07 FFL holder all the tools needed to record Creation and Assembly Manufacturing activities. When enabled, this Add On will create a Manufacturing Database with all the tables needed to support the Add On. An additional tab in Options becomes available where the Store Information and User Permissions can be defined. By default the Store Information from FFL Tools is populated into the Manufacturing Store's Information section. Changes can be made as needed. Some FFL holders have an 01 license for retail operations and then an 07 license for manufacturing. This multi-licensing is supported within the Complex Manufacturing Add On.

In Creation Manufacturing, serialized items are created for an FFL holder and can only be permanently disposed to the FFL holder they are created for. If Outside Processes are enabled, items can be disposed and re-acquired from the outside processor.
In Assembly Manufacturing serialized items can only be disposed to an FFL holder.  In both Creation and Assembly Modules, if the item is disposed to "self", an Acquisition record in FFL Tools is automatically created. During the Disposition process, the SKU, Firearm Type, and Description can be changed.  This allows for an item to be received as one type and then disposed as another type.
2

Creation Manufacturing Modules

The Creation Manufacturing Modules are used when items are manufactured in house.
3

Assembly Manufacturing  Modules

Assembly Manufacturing Modules are used in the manufacturing process of items that where received for another FFL holder.
4

Outside Processing Modules

If Outside Processes are enabled, the Outside Processing Modules allow items to be Sent and Returned from Outside Processors.  The records will be grouped showing the original creation of the item with the disposition to the Outside Processor, then the next line will show the acquisition from the Outside Processor regardless of the date the item was returned.  This makes it easy to see all transactions for a single item during the manufacturing process.
5

Manufacturing Edit Modules

There can be three or four Manufacturing Edit Modules.
  • Outside Process Edit will display if Outside Processes has been enabled in Options.
  • Firearm Edit provides the ability to edit firearm records in accordance to ATF rules and regulations.
  • Vendor Edit to Add, Deactivate, or Edit Vendor information.  FFL Tools Complex Manufacturing Add On uses its own Vendor Table which makes it easier to find a vendor .
  • Firearm Scrap allows for items to be scrapped.  There is very little documentation from the ATF on the process of scrapping items.  In lieu of well defined processes from the ATF, the developers of FFL Tools talked with several FFL's with manufacturing licenses to define the process used in FFL Tools.  FFL Tools Complex Manufacturing allows for images of the scrapped item to be stored in the database which can be printed on the Scrap Report.

Manufacturing Reporting Modules

Currently there are six Reporting Modules for FFL Tools Complex Manufacturing.
  • Boundbook Report.  This is the Standard Boundbook report.  It has all the features that is found in the FFL Tools Retail Boundbook.
  • Dated Boundbook Report.  This report allows for a date range to be entered to limit the amount of data displayed.
  • Scrap Report. Scrapped items are shown in a data grid which can be filtered.  Details and images that where stored can be seen by double clicking an item in the grid.  The individual reports can be printed along with images.
  • Inquiry.  Works the same as the Retail FFL Tools Inquiry.
  • Yearly Manufacturing Report.  This report will create the 5300-11 form needed to report yearly manufacturing activity to the ATF.  The form is not "flattened" so it can be edited if necessary.
  • Vendor Reference Report. This is a relational report that will list items acquired for each reference number if the reference number was supplied during Assembly Acquisition.
